Why Do Men Rape Women

There are many reasons that men rape women, but is the way women dress really one of those reasons? Do women really invite rape? Victims of rape everywhere are being accused of many reasons why they have caused rape to happen to them. Whether the victim was under the influence, dressed provocatively, or are showing interest in the man, some people find a way to blame the victim. Is it really the victim’s fault? Why are people defending rapists? Is the way women dress really a good excuse for men to think “Hey, I’m going to rape that girl later, or maybe even right now.”?
Rapists will find anyway they can to blame a victim for what he has done. People agreeing that women dressing the way that they do is having an influence on them being raped, is kind of like telling people “Oh that girl is dressed so provocatively, it’s okay to rape her because she asked for it.” Now that doesn’t seem right does it? Like the writer of BroadBlogs said “ If seeing an enticing led men to conclude, “I’ve got to rape her,” all men would be rapists. Yet few are.” (BroadBlogs September 26 2011). When men who are intoxicated rape women, they often blame the alcohol. Some people think it is acceptable to blame the alcohol, because you can’t control yourself while under the influence, sometimes. Men are already very observant, add alcohol to that and their thoughts become uncontrollable. But yet not every man who goes out and drinks are rapists, so shouldn’t that be enough evidence to say, it isn’t the alcohol causing this but the rapist themselves. If it were just men under the influence raping and if every man under the influence were a rapist then it would be acceptable to blame the alcohol, but not every man under the influence is a rapist, so there for alcohol is not to blame
