Pros and Cons Between Capitalist and Socialist Economy

Abstract In this is essay I will explain my personal opinions on the benefits and downfalls of living in a Capitalist economy as opposed to living in a socialist economy. Julie Marshall and her cousin Jean-Paul have been communicating back and forth through e-mail discussing the benefits of her moving to the U.S. Jean-Paul is currently living in Belgium, which is a Socialist Economy. Julie Marshall on the other hand resides in the U. S., which is a Capitalist Economy. In the following essay I will provide Julie’s opinions on the benefits of living in the U.S. and the downfalls of living in Belgium. I will also …show more content…
When this results it is referred to as a term “Brain Drain.” This actually can be quite bad for socialist countries for they lose there hard workers, and successful people. When Julie brought this all to Jean-Paul’s attention, Jean-Paul agreed with all of these benefits, but then replied with what is provided with in a Socialist economy and is not provided in a Capitalist economy. Just to name a few would be in Belgium the provided free college education, free health care, as well as free childcare. All of these things are huge perks, but at the end of the day does a free ride pursue more beneficial then personal success? To conclude this essay I will provide my personal opinion for living in the U.S. I believe that not all people work and strive for a better life then others. In my opinion this does not make you wrong, but should also not take away from the people who do. Everybody is born with all of the same capabilities with in him or her selves to have the life that they desire. Therefore in my opinion I do not believe that free education, health care, or childcare amount to the opportunities to be as successful as your heart
