During World War I (July 28, 1914- November 11, 1918) the United States made it its mission to not get involved. They were going to abide by a neutrality acts. These acts were used so that the United States and other countries would not overstep boundaries causing the two to feud with each other. Sadly, things did not go according to plan when Germany decided to take matters into their own hands. Many of these acts were broken and as a result the United States entered the war. While the breaking of the acts seemed like the obvious reason for going to war, many people believed that the United States had alternative motives as to what caused them to enter the war. Germany was power hungry. They tried to build their team big enough to control the entire world. In January of 1917 a message was intercepted from the …show more content…
He debated that Wall Street only cared about the dollars and cents they would be earning and not the human lost and suffering that came along with that. Another person that expanded on his own way of thinking too was Linen, Bolsheviks leader who took control of Russia. Linen sent a letter to America workers in August of 1918 to show that the results of the war did not profit them directly in any type of way. The only thing the war did was bring in more money that was transacted through secret treaties that Great Britain had with its allies. Protection vs. Money. The two causes fought over as to why the United States abandoned neutrality and entered the war. While the war came out as a victory for the allies and money was made along the way, the suffrage of the soldiers is something no one can ever take away with money or a victory speech.
