In Sense and Sensibility specifically, there are valuable things to be gained from its examples of courtship, marriage, and love. To set this kind of cascade up for success, the novel presents many factors that will contribute to the success of a relationship. Getting to know a person is of great value in order to lay the foundation of any relationship, especially in the process of a courtship. As you become more familiar with the qualities of an individual, the natural consequence will be an appreciation for their positive qualities and will either prove, or condemn any potential future.
