INTRODUCTION
Bicycle industry means:
The bicycle industry or cycling industry can broadly defined as the industry concerned with bicycles. It includes bicycle manufacturers or producers, parts or components manufacturers, dealers, distributors, retailers, bicycle organizations, cycle promoters, bicycle related service providers.

India produces approximately 10% of the world annual bicycle production, which is estimated at 12.5 million units every year witnessing new designs, features. If we see in the total production, 2.5 million units is consumption by government towards various welfare schemes and 2.5 million units were exported to other countries.

Decrease in Indian bicycle exports:
Bicycle exports in India is decreased from last five years because India produces mainly cycles for normal use and imports were increased because in India manufacturing cost of high end bicycles is very high and people import from foreign countries. Bicycles cost increases due to the hike in steel, Labour charges.
Effect & Changes in BICYCLE Industry due to technology:
E-bikes: E-bikes or electric bicycles have a battery powered motor and it assists to the riders with pedaling. They can go with a speed of 24-30 km or more. Depending on the country these are often considered as bicycles and they don’t restrict any level of regulations or laws on ownership
Analysis of e-bikes in China:
In 2008 itself china had manufactured 21 million e-bikes compared with autos 9 million. China has brought e-bicycles four times more than cars. Taiwan made 300000 (3lakh) e-bicycle exports. Over time there was gradual decrease in the usage of cycle in the urban and the rural areas. The motor cycle usage is increasing because even teenagers and youth are preferring to use that motor vehicles instead of bicycles. They feel embarrassed to use bicycles.
In china also the same phase is happening the usage of the bicycles is decreasing every year. In order to keep its income stable china is exporting cycles to other countries.
Environmental protection:
Delhi has been declared has a most polluted city in the world. National green tribunal had set up a danger zone and implementing rules to protect it. The government is promoting bicycles in order to reduce that pollution but in metropolitan cities this awareness is not success at all

• Inadequacy of funds to upgrade to new models and technology.
• Lack of government support.
• Heavy duty and tax on imported spare parts.
