Have you ever had the fantasy on traveling around the world? Have you ever had any imagination about the friendly local people you meet during traveling or the stunning natural sceneries of some foreign countries? The answer for me is yes. Apart from that, photo-taking is one of my favorite hobbies and I am always dreaming to use my special camera angle to record the beauty of the nature, the precious moments and deliver the lifestyles of different cultures and countries. I was a patrol leader for two years and a Vice-chairlady in my senior form. I joined various activities through this Girl Guides such as camping, doing services, outdoor cooking and selling raffle tickets. I became more familiar with leading my patrol members to participate in different activities. Also, we improved our teamwork and understanding through diverse games such as orienteering in school and outside school. It is a sport which requires physical strength and intelligence. In addition, camping is another great way to develop skills. For example, we used bamboos and ropes to make a table. We also designed our lunch or dinner menus which included rice, soup, vegetables and meat. We had to cook outsides by gas and build our tents and shelters. My patrol had better teamwork under my leadership which makes me become more confident. My team was also in charge of some prize presentations for some annual events of my school such as the Speech Day, the Athletic Meet and the Swimming Gala. We had to be well-prepared for the process and the prizes, have a quick response and be polite to guess. These experiences taught me how important good preparation work and cooperation behind the stage are and every one of us should definitely bear our responsibilities and be well-prepared. I am also proud of our team since we continuously got the Award of Outstanding Units for seven years. I am so glad that I can be a ranger of Sea Panther having more learning experiences in my future guiding

When I initially began Boy Scouts, I largely depended on my brother and his friends for help and assistance. Eventually, my brother and his friends around his age graduated, and while many moved on to serve as adult leaders, all of them eventually left for college. With this large amount of support missing from my usual routine, I felt lost for a significant amount of time, before I participated in a Philmont trek in the summer before my freshman year of high school. During the Philmont trek, as the youngest member of the crew, I felt highly unprepared due to my overall lack of experience with high adventure and large amounts of leadership; however, despite developing a blister on the first day, I found solace with my crew as they taught me valuable skills that would help me survive the journey. From their exemplary leadership and teachings, I quickly learned not only how to help myself, but also how to assist and guide others as a leader.…

We didn’t mean to teach those primary students wholeheartedly, just because it happened in normal school days, then we could have some extra “holidays”! And what’s more exciting is, we only have to teach those kids in the last two days, wasn’t it just a trip for fun? We’d travelled a lot places in the first three days, like the Niuyuzui Original Scenic Resort, the Three Gorges of Huangchuan, watching Yaozu dancing, and to name but a few.…
