I believe that in life in order to succeed, you must fail. Without failure, you would never learn, and you would never grow. Everyone experiences failures in their lives, and it is through these times that we learn the keys to succeeding. One of the biggest obstacles keeping people from success is their fear of failure. You cannot go through life afraid of failing, you need to embrace it because it will eventually lead you to your success.
In my life I have experienced failure countless amount of times. Growing up playing competitive sports there were many moments where I have felt like I have failed. For example, when I struck out in softball or served the ball out of bounds in volleyball. Even though in those moments I felt like I lost the game for my teammates, I was able to look back on them and learn from it. A lot of people do not know this, but he was cut from the basketball team his sophomore year of high school. He did not let this stop him though, he continued to work hard on getting better and improving his skills. The next season his hard work had paid off for him when he made the team. He then went on to be arguably one of the best basketball players the NBA has ever seen. On his success Michael Jordan said, “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” I love that he accounts his success to his failures and not just the things that he has done well in his career.
