In all my experiences with working with older individuals is that they treat me as if I was a child. As a matter of fact, one of the business classes I met in front of a group of business-people the other day. After overhearing some of their side comments, it made I and a few other classmates feel like they looked down on us for being young as if we weren’t able to present important and serious information because we are younger. This is the case with many adults. I am not sure if they feel intimidated by us or if they simply have a preconceived judgment that anyone younger is going to be immature. I suppose the reverse can be said as well. I do feel people my age view older adults as “dinosaurs” that will only provide outdated knowledge. When an employee asks others for their help or opinion, it proves they value what this person has to say. Establishing a work culture where everyone asks for insights indicates that employees are beyond simply tolerating each other. In my personal opinion, the best group dynamic comes from partnering an older generation with a newer one. There is so much each party can learn from one another. There is no reason either side should be looked down upon or should be intimidated by the each other. A wise person would be excited to work with someone from another
