One such problem is the No Child Left Behind Act which in essence allows a parent, teacher, or principal to pass a student in elementary or middle school on to the next grade when they are clearly not ready. An example would be a student with a fourth grade reading level in seventh grade; this student has sat in class, did nothing, failed the final, and was passed on because their parents didn 't want them to be held back. This practice is as a malignant practice slowly killing America. Another practice is Standardized Testing a way to level the playing field so to speak. If someone wishes to truly learn they must be challenged. The education system can not be standardized! No one learns the same way, test the same way, or studies the same, everyone is different so when a standardized test is created it is faulty. …show more content…
When students drop out on a regular basis you cant justify saying we compare. When we have smart phones but dumb people theirs a problem. When cars can park themselves what does that say? It says people are lazy. When we don’t move are hand ten inches to grab the remote to change the channel because we have voice command. What does that say? It says we 've become complacent.
