Starting up a business shows good potentials but nevertheless, being self employed is not just about being in control, following your dreams nor choosing your hours of work but rather it carries greater responsibilities and challenges that you are not likely to face when working for a company. The following are reasons why it is better to work for a company; it serves better benefits in the area of financial compensation, responsibilities and time commitment.
First, in terms of financial compensation, people who work for a company enjoy more privileges than those who work for themselves. In accordance to statistics Canada, it is revealed that an average of 40 hours is spent as a work week of a self employed and 35 hours average workweek for employees (Cbc news, October 2011). From this, we can evaluate that there is no doubt that working for a company has more flexibility. This is because there is a higher division of labour between employees. Nevertheless, the self employed do enjoy the benefit of having break periods at times that suit them best and have total control over their business, meanwhile the employees are given a specific time for breaks and so not have any control over the business except their work. Regardless of that, the self employed benefit less in areas of their working hours than employees, spending less time with their family, stress, loneliness, and is more complicated because they have to look at the investment, availability of land, the employment rate and draw up plans before starting their business, more so, they are required to learn more about accounting, taxes, payroll, insurance, government system, etc which takes a while. For this purpose, the self employed faces more challenges and have to be responsible for doing things the right way for the safety of the
