My Defining Moment

My defining moment was probably one of the many times I had entertained the idea of falling in love. The thought of expressing it, turned it into a whole different story. What I thought could happen, the difference I could make with a glance, a smile, with just being alive. Truthfully, I have never been the most emotional person. Being raised in a family where the only two emotions were happy and mad, I have always viewed all other emotions as a sign of weakness. This is why mundane experiences have affected me so much, it is the fact that even when I cannot find love in a person, I can always find it in everything else. There was not one particular instance where I had this epiphany, but rather the accumulated moments I fell in love with love.

To fall in love with a person is to fall in love with feelings and things and words all at once, the tiny fleeting aspects of the human experience, the pure emotions, the whole truths that people sometimes express.
I find that I am often addicted to the concept of blatantly revealing experiences. Perhaps that is why I am in love with love and the realizations of others’ love. Love is the most terrifying, vulnerable and magical experience. I thrive on it. It envelops me like a pleasant sensation of past and future and I look for it everywhere.
I see it in people, their eyes, their movements and their words. I read stories so simple in their complexity, about love that never was, love which has moved on, love lost and love everlasting. The fascinating idea that two people, in midst a maddening world, found each other and together the world makes sense
