A concussion, a type of traumatic brain injury, causes malfunctions in ones brain. The major causes of the malfunctions are due to the damage of neural functions. The damage of neural function can lead to vision disturbance, instability, and slow cognitive recognition. There are other symptoms that are associated with concussions that have not been listed. A person can be suffering from a concussion with out their knowledge. Concussions affects a person’s function rather than the structure of the brain, thus it is very hard to test for a concussion using procedural testing in healthcare facilities.
A person can suffer from a concussion by receiving a blow to the their head. The concussion occurs by the sudden jerk of the person’s head causing the brain to move inside the skull and hit the inner part of the skull. The movement of …show more content…
Furthermore, the need to explore for a treatment to reduce the effects of concussions on one’s brain is crucial. Conducting studies and experiments to understand the mechanism of concussions can pave the road for finding a treatment for this type of traumatic brain injury. Below are studies that I have found will be helpful in treating concussions and reducing the occurrence of concussions in the future.

The rapid spread is due to the knowledge the public is receiving regarding head injuries. The mechanism of traumatic brain injuries in human is not fully understood, however, more and more studies are being published to further the public’s knowledge. Lateral fluid percussion (LFP) is a method used on rats to mimic head injuries. LFPs are used to generate mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries.
