Divorced Parents Long Term Effects

According to Marriage and Divorce Statistics (MDS), “The current divorce rate and annulments in a year is: 877,000.” This proves that almost 4% of this specific population is divorced. Forty households out of 1000 are affected. If any of these households have children, they are at an even greater risk for a change in their life style. Additionally, one may not know that 41% of couples in their first marriage end in divorce. Then, 60% of couples in a second marriage end in divorce, and 73% of couples in their third marriage end in divorce. Imagine the children that are negatively impacted in these situations. One of the biggest concerns parents have about their children is how they express their feelings. Imagine how hard it would for a child with divorced parents. One 's physical state is very damaged with divorced parents (“Long term”). First, would be the long term effects. The long term effects are what stay with the children through their whole life. Many people believe that if someone’s parents get divorced, it does not affect their children. But, according to Children Divorce Statistics (CDS), “50% of all children born into divorced parents today, will experience divorce when they are older.” This reveals that parents do have an impact on their children when they are older. Next, studies show that children with divorced parents have a difficult time maintaining healthy relationships. They have a difficult time,because their parents did not set a good example of what a healthy relationship looks like (“Long term”). This leads them to have less trust in his or hers spouse when growing up. They wonder if they have a healthy relationship, or if they can trust their spouse, which keeps them from maintaining a healthy long term
