300,000 people die each year in the U.S.A due to obesity(El Ackad). This is a serious problem for this country. Because of the lack of awareness in this topic, many people are dying. Nobody is telling little children that being obese is not good. Also, People these days aren 't getting the exercise they need to stay physically healthy. With this shocking statistic you 'd think child obesity wouldn 't be increasing. Child obesity is increasing, so the government should give awareness and implement programs to help these children.

Child obesity has tripled since 1980 (Adams). This shows how important this topic is and how we must act and stop child obesity from increasing anymore. This increase shows how children 's diet has changed over the

Fat and sugar accounts for over 50 percent of the total calories in a child 's diet(Guest, Donna k.). Children these days eat high energy foods and drinks. These foods contain a lot of sugar. childrens diet is very important because eating too much of these foods can make a kid obese. They are not getting the food groups that they are suppose to get on a daily basis. Getting these eating habits will cause them to become obese adults. Without the proper nutrition children are at risk of health issues as adults. 32 percent of the commercials children view are for candy, 31 percent are for cereal, and 9 percent are for fast food ( USA). giving children these commercials encourages them to eat unhealthy. They think that it is ok to eat junk food. They may see celebrities eating them and think it is ok to eat them because it won 't make them …show more content…
If we improve communities by making parks, neighborhoods, fresh markets, and improve infrastructure. building a park will give people a way to escape and exercise. they can walk in the park. This will decrease the amount of obese children because they now have some green space to run around in. Also, creating neighborhoods will allow children to go outside and exercise. Some children were not allowed outside because it was not safe, but now creating a neighborhood gives the parents a satisfaction of letting their children exercise outside. Adding a fresh market to a community will give people access to fresh and healthy foods. This may even encourage them to eat healthy on a daily basis and feed these healthy foods to their children. Improving infrastructure is another solution. Creating sidewalks and a trail through the community will encourage people to walk on them and exercise. Also, making a playground for the kids will also be a great way for the little ones to
