These themes have been echoed in many later films such as The Internet Story and The Tale of the Three Brothers. These films mimic the themes of the Pardoner’s tale as well as many aspects of the story such as their plot progression as well as nuances of their details.

These three brothers all use their gifts for their own good but only one remains untainted by sin and able to live to an old age. These brothers all show different aspects of the themes within The Pardoner’s Tale. He receives a wand that is the more powerful than any wand to ever exists. He uses this wand to kill a man he once quarreled with, boasting of his all powerfulness.
