The Blobby: A Short Story

Bob The Blob and his dog Blobby were green cells that lived in a human named Tyler. It was very strange being a cell. Although, it was almost the same world that humans lived in, just different. For example, instead of roads, they had bloodstreams, instead of humans and their pets, everyone was a cell, just in a different form. Roads still existed and they were still called ‘roads’, or at least by the cells. If you were a human, you’d call it a bloodstream. The small world the cells lived in was like a second, disfigured human world.

The day started off as a normal Saturday until Bob The Blob who was a cell noticed that his flat screen tv was missing and the door was unlocked. Bob ALWAYS locked the door and he’s never forgotten before. Plus, he could recall locking it Friday night. The first thing he suspected was a robber, mainly because his dog, Blobby, was sniffing around like crazy, as if someone had been there and left their scent, but also because that seems like the most logical conclusion based on the situation. Bob pointed quite obviously to the black car racing down the street and the police understood. Two police cars raced after the burglar and cut him off at the end of the road. The cops got him out of the car, arrested him, and they returned the stolen items unharmed. Bob got his tv back, the other victim got their laptop back, and the other large flat screen tv was returned as well. Yet, all of the victims were still in disbelief that they had no idea the robber was in the house. Nobody ever expects that type of thing to happen to them. It was all thanks to Blobby. Without him, they probably never would’ve caught the burglar. The friendly police officers also gave Blobby a biscuit for his hard
