Social interaction is defined as the process by which we act and react to those around us, and has three important components: involves an action on the part of two or more individuals, has a common goal that people hope to achieve, and takes place in a social context. All three components show up throughout Avatar in multiple different scenes. When Neytiri finds Jake in the forest of Pandora lost and confused she helps him and guides him for months, teaching him the Omaticaya clan’s ways because the clan’s leaders demanded her to and same situation for Jake and his superiors, showing the concept of an action on the part of two or more individuals. Rational Choice Theory is also in the lecture and that is portrayed when Parker Selfridge takes Jake under his belt and tries to get him to turn against the Na’vi people, with the goal of it rewarding only him in the long
