Analysis Of The Story 'The Three Little Pigs'

Improved Essays
In the story The Three Little Pigs, I believe the wolf is innocent of the murder of the Pigs because of his natural instincts, his sickness, and the pigs worked less to play more. While we may have personified the wolf and pigs, no living thing can ignore it's natural instincts. Every living thing has to eat to live and also has a “limit” to what they eat. These days we are also lazy and choose the pleasure principle, to work less and play more.

When it comes to natural instincts you can’t ignore them. Just like the wolf said, “ It seemed like a shame to leave a perfectly good ham dinner lying there in the straw.” (source B) .We would eat it with no hesitation. “Think of it as a cheeseburger just lying there” (source B). You can’t resist the

“Their mother told them”whatever you do, do it the best that you can because that’s the way to get along in the world.” The two pigs that were eaten made a mistake and did not listen. If they wouldn't have followed the pleasure principle, work less to play more, and worked harder they would be alive. You can’t be lazy when it comes to things you need in life, like your home. “ We must not be lazy and take things easy, for if we do, we may perish. Intelligent planning and foresight combined with hard labor will make us victorious over even our most ferocious enemy-the wolf!”(Source C). Work harder and play less is what you should do. It may not sound fun but you will feel safer and more accomplished. Today, we want things done good but don’t want to do it yourself. Like the pigs, we do the least we can. The younger pigs built their houses with the least care out of unstable materials. “Living in accordance with the pleasure principle, the younger pigs seek immediate gratification, without a thought for the future and the dangers of reality.”(Source C). We think we feel good about how fast we get something done, but when we come back around to it in a bad situation we realize it wasn't as good as we thought. If we would have worked harder and “played” when we were done, the situation would not be bad. We can feel and be safe when in …show more content…
When he knocked on the door of the first little pig, “ Little pig, little pig, are you in? No answer. I was just about to go home without the cup of sugar for my dear old granny’s birthday cake.”(Source B) “And you know what? The whole darn straw house fell down.”(Source B) Now if you make a house out of STRAW, it will not hold itself up against the lightest sneeze. The wolf did have “a terrible sneezing cold”(Source B) so the sneezes may have been heavier than normal. So of course the house fell in. There is no explanation of why the pig was dead already, but he was. Something similar happened at the stick house, “He yelled back. Go away wolf. You can’t come in. I’m shaving the hairs on my shinny chin chin.”(Source B) When you sneeze it’s hard to keep it in. You try to cover it but it doesn’t always work “ And i tried to cover my mouth , but i sneezed a great sneeze.”(Source

He is a leader, He is relentless. He is thoughtful. That is why I admire Piggy the most.…

In Orwell’s Animal Farm the characters and setting are used as an allegory to the Soviet Union. In the story the animals form a rebellion against their human masters, and this is meant to symbolize the Russian Revolution of 1917, and the story as a whole represents the Soviet Union, its people, and policies. The rhetorical components used for the allegory of this story include Animalism, the Manor Farm, Mr. Jones, Old Major, Snowball, Napoleon, and Boxer.…

Piggy’s dominant trait at the beginning of Lord of the Flies is intelligence. When “Piggy put on his glasses “it shows his brightness (Golding page 34).The fact that Piggy wears glasses shows that he is intelligent because it shows he have a great insight on things in the world. As Piggy says “nobody knows where we are “it illustrates his cleverness (Golding page 34).All of this goes to show Piggy’s intuitive because all of the other boys thought a plane would come and capture them meanwhile he knew they would be stranded. As noted in Lord of the Flies “acting like a crowd of kids” draws the reader to Piggy’s penetration. Based on this we must conclude Piggy is astute because he acts an adult while the other boys act as little kids.…

Kisor’s autobiography takes the reader through his life, starting with the meningitis that caused him to be deaf at age 3, to his adult life as a journalist. In between, Kisor experiences some discrimination, such as not being allowed to be a lifeguard, but goes largely unopposed throughout his life. Kisor’s parents are very accepting, and fight hard for him to have the resources he needs.…

Often, we as people, are faced with a difficult question: is it morally right or morally wrong to eat meat. Alastair Norcross discusses this in his article, “Puppies, Pigs, and People: Eating Meat and Marginal Cases.” In this article Norcross tells the story of Fred, a man who lost the ability to taste chocolate due to a car accident. He sets up twenty-six cages of puppies, and leads them to live stress induced lives. This is because when the puppies are under stress, they produce a hormone called cocoamone, which can give Fred the ability to taste chocolate again.…

Stories are told different ways after every generation, and that goes the same for fairy tales. Throughout time the main concept never changes, only by a slight bit. At first glance, Straparola story The Pig King would have nothing to do with the modern day adaption of Beauty and the Beast. However, the concept of the story is basically the same throughout, and these similarities lead me to believe that the, oh so famous, movie Beauty and the Beast originated from this tale. The symbolism throughout each story intertwines and creates one powerful theme about beauty.…
