Academic misconduct is when we are actually giving or handing out a result that is giving disadvantageous to one’s or to any other members ‘of the academic community. Whereas academic community here refers to the teachers, students, the school authorities and the parents as well. Not only that, but academic misconduct also means when we are actually showing or encouraging a person, which are directly involve with academic, considered themselves as the academic community to do something that against the honesty or policies needed to be done or apply in a particular manner. Academic misconduct mostly can be done by the educators and learners during the teaching and learning process take place. Personal values here refers to the core values as a human being which are honesty, human worth and dignity, responsibility, patriotism, honesty, respect, loyalty, tolerate and etc. Quoting Ron Hubbard from the Scientology Principles, according to him the definition of personal integrity is “knowing what you know. What you know is what you know and to have the courage to know and say what you have observed. And that is integrity and there is no other integrity”. However, one’s having personal integrity does not promise anything good because even an evil man does have a personal integrity. In this case, being honest and truthful with oneself and others are the vital factor or element. For instance, as a teacher, he/she must have his/her own personal integrity to be portrayed to the students as these fellow teachers are the role models of the students. All the eyes of the society are on the teachers whether they are inside or outside of the school. The society includes the parents, colleagues and the students themselves. Not only in schools, but also one’s are needed to have personal values no matter where they work. According to Edwin Delattre, there is no difference between business ethics, science ethics or educational ethics, but ethics is ethics. One has to understand every walk of life to apply ethics. When ethics is mentioned, honesty and fairness are closely related to it. Ethical behavior not only deals with behavior but also the equity in the academic behavior which is the academic relation with the scholars and personal integrity of a person, specifically a worker with the other colleagues in their workplace. Ethical behavior also means where an individual respects the difference that he/she have with his/her colleague which compromises the differences in dignity and the right of individuality and group of people. In Malaysia, we are known as a unique country because of the diversity in our ethnic group however we still managed to live in a harmonious way since the Independence Day of our country. It can be seen that mostly of our citizens that are working under companies have their ethical behavior because they are managed to do their job every day even though they have to work with different kind of people. Despite the ethnic, the belief and the rights of people are treated the same no matter where you come from. For instance in school, a teacher that have perform good ethical behavior does not show his/her biasness and have a student pet amongst the students that he/she is teaching.
