Although the military helps the country stay safe by protecting against foreign threats, it puts a strain on the troops. Nearly 400,000 to 600,000 soldiers are in active duty and approximately 224,000 to 329,000 soldiers have died within the past three war the country has been. Not just does it project the U.S. or puts a strain on its solders it is the nation biggest spending budget. According to the article “Federal Spending: Where Does the Money Go” by the National Priorities Project, the president’s modelled discretionary spending on military expense is going to be approximately % of the national budget by 2015. In 2015 military expense would become the most spending budget the Nation had spent on the defense. Studies in the article “Iraq War Cost U.
