Honors Program Advantages

By attending a postsecondary school, it provides a variety of open doors full of advantages and opportunities that will last a lifetime. People with a college degree earn about twice as more than those who receive only a high school diploma. Also, colleges and universities provide students with a healthy social life to be prosperous all around. Furthermore, employers use college degrees as one of the tools to sort out potential employees, recognizing that higher levels of education indicate higher abilities. Clearly, college is a very important aspect of life that we all must take advantage of because it allows us to invest in ourselves and others. Even though the tuition for the University of Miami is expensive, the school offers beneficial scholarships, attainable requirements, and great programs, which will allow for success. This includes the Honors Program. The Honors Program offers scholars an educational opportunity by providing a challenging course of study (“Overview”). The courses are available in introductory levels through advanced levels where there is a diverse amount of fields to choose from (“Overview”). Honors courses are taught in small classes as seminars with emphasis on interactive learning and discussion (“Overview”). The requirements include a GPA of at least a 3.50, a resume, and a letter stating why he or she would desire to be a member of the Honors Program (“Overview”). Furthermore, the Honors Students’ Association is a social and cultural section of the Honors Program. It provides co-curricular events to enhance the student’s university experience (“Overview”). Small classrooms allow for more active and one-on-one personal time which I favor.
