In Act One, the beautiful yet callous Hedda Gabler is seen as a manipulator and a user. As evident throughout the play, display that Hedda is spoiled and get what she is pleased. Hedda manipulates as doing what she wishes to be fulfilled as in, for example, how she wanted her marriage to be arranged. In the introduction of the play, demonstrates how they start talking about how Hedda’s marriage outcome of the honeymoon was and Aunt’s Rina’s failing health issue.
