Wheel Invention

Register to read the introduction… Now this idea didn't just pop into someones head, it took time to improve and perfect. The stages of the wheel consisted of men putting heavy objects on a roller ,a round log,and pushing. The roller made it easier to move but once you pushed it off you would have to put it back on the roller. In response they made a sled which went under the heavy object and it had rounded edges that would just roll onto the roller and make it easier to get on the log. They then improved it with the sled and the roller together, and the roller had grooves in it for the sled to fit into yet again making it easier to get on the log and push and it would go a longer distance. Then there was the wheel and axle in one piece and the axle was attached by pegs. And finally the wheel and axle where to different parts that moved smoothly and you didn't have to worry about putting the heavy object back on the log.And with this amazing idea you could go longer distances in a shorter time with less energy and you could trade with different places, the possibilities were endless. The Egyptians soon perfected this idea in a chariot which was used greatly in the midwest, for example in Rome they had an amphitheater called the Coliseum and they used these chariots for show in fights to the death and …show more content…
The wheel has evolved greatly since its original version and is used in many more ways. Wheels on cars are now made of metal and have a rubber tire over them. In any machine there is many wheels inside compared to the potter’s wheel there are power tools, lifts, vehicles, even clocks have wheels in them. This invention has helped humanity expand their reach and explore far away places. Mesopotamia has made the world the way it is now. There really is not any down side to the wheel. It helps us explore new places, Expands our capabilities, makes work easier and overall improves life. The wheel has let us evolve and expand beyond our wildest dreams and even if you don't notice it wheels are everywhere; in your car, in your watch, on your toaster, in your room, on the playground, they are everywhere.
