While these Laws were in place, 40% of Jews immigrated to Palestine to escape the harsh brutalities Hitler and the Nazi’s brought to Germany. Almost 10,000 also immigrated to the United States and others immigrated to Canada and South Africa. After Hitler died, Jews returned back to their homes to locate their family members. In some rare cases, they found former neighbours living inside their homes and shops and the new inhabitants of these former Jewish property made it very clear that Jews were not welcomed back. Even after Hitler was dead, German Citizens were convinced that Jews were the reason that Germany was a disaster (Historyplace.com, 2010). Was this what the Nazi’s wanted? Thousands of Jews finally left Germany and Millions died inside Concentration Camps. According to the Census of 1933, the Jewish population of Germany consisted of 500,000 Jews (Ushmm.org, n.d.) and 9.5 million Jews in Europe (Ushmm.org, n.d.). In 1950, another census was released and the results came back as 3.5 million Jews (Ushmm.org, n.d.). This clearly displays that Hitler was using the ultimate elimination techniques and they were actually working in the elimination of Jews. On the night of November 9th, the SS conducted the night of the broken glass. Approximately 100 Jews were killed and 20,000 were sent to the concentration camps located in their areas (Holocaustresearchproject, 2007). After the German population was 67 million, this left that 63.5 million people were almost perfectly Aryans.
