Steps For Sccaffolding Writing Strategies

Register to read the introduction… Scaffolding, in terms of learning, is the support given during the learning process which is tailored to the needs of the students with the intention of helping them to achieve his/her learning goals by provide prompt and hints that help them to figure it by themselves (Sawyer, 2006). The teachers will coaching their student rather than tell them how to do it. According to Alber (2011), there are six strategies for scaffolding writing; show and tell, tap into prior knowledge, give time to talk, pre-teach, use visual aids, pause and ask question/review. The first step of scaffolding writing strategy is showing an idea together between teacher and student. The second step is tap into prior knowledge, the student tell their experience to co-worker or teacher about the topic. The third step is giving a time to talk,the interaction between teacher and student. Student has more opportunity to see the teacher to consulting. The fourth step is pre - teach, the teacher can provide the specific grammar in the writing sentences. The fifth step is use a visual aid, the student can synthesize the information more understand from material. The finally, pause and ask question/review, is the way to check the understanding of student learning while they have a new idea from discussion with the …show more content…
