Register to read the introduction… Communication is important to the relationship because it is the crucial mortar that holds the relationship together in fact some people believe communication is the keystone on which you can build a happy relationship. It is said that any little discrepancy with the communication between you and your spouse can crumble your whole relationship. Communication is the very thing that strengthens the bond and keeps the spark alive, some people are absolutely clueless of how huge of an impact communication has on their love life. Spouses need to be more attentive towards their way of communicating with their partner in order to understand them better and prolong the lasting of their relationship. The more spouses communicate in their relationship the more familiar they will become with their partner and will understand how to approach them better. When in a relationship, marriage, or any kind of personal commitment, one must give ample space to their partner. Though this may seem hard because of the attachment built in a relationship it is still important, that when needed, spouses respect each other’s personal space. If partners are always surrounded by one another and never apart, as time passes they will begin to become congested and tired of being around one another. This can lead to conflict that can cause problems within communication. For example, if something continuously goes wrong in your spouse’s life it is possible that they will make the assumption it has something to do with you, this can lead to arguments and the destruction of a relationship. Communication is not simply talking to one another or pointing out mistakes your partner could have made but instead understanding each other’s perspectives in order to avoid arguments and misunderstandings. People seem to have forgotten that intimacy is a process not a thing, intimacy is something that is suppose to be done after building a bond with someone over a period of time not an activity done just for fun. There are many different types of intimacy such as; cognitive and intellectual intimacy. These two types of intimacy are connected to the exchange of thoughts, sharing ideas, and enjoying similarities and differences between their opinions. If a couple can do these things in an open and comfortable way then they also should become quite intimate in an intellectual area. A second form of intimacy is experimental intimacy or intimacy activity. An example of experimental intimacy is when people get together and engage in activities together. During the process people do not say much too each other or talk about their feelings, instead they simply participate in mutual activities. Emotional intimacy is also important to the success of a relationship. In this process spouses can comfortably share their feelings with one another and can emphasize their feelings for the other person. The fourth and final form of intimacy is sexual intimacy. This form of intimacy is often stereotypical because people see it as sexual intercourse which most people are familiar with, however this form of intimacy includes a much more broad range of sensuous activities.
