As the audience began to fill the large arena theatre at the St. Louis America’s Center dome I got felt that everyone in that room was there to hear great music. Before Beyoncé took the stage the prelude was very musical as well. The arena had background music playing to keep the audience entertained. The concert took place on Saturday September 10,2016 at The Dome at America 's Center in St. Louis. The concert headlined Beyoncé only and there were no other performers during this concert. Throughout the night Beyoncé performed many of her pop hits as well as her R&B hit songs as well. Beyoncé also played music from other artist that she was a fan of such as Prince. As I took my seat for this very large arena concert my first reaction was that the crowds were massive. Everyone was there for one reason and one reason only, and that was to see a great show. The stage design was created in a way I have never seen before, and there were two stages for this concert one being the main stage and the other was more in the audience called the B-stage. The concert had a piece that took center stage which was a 60 ft. …show more content…
Beyoncé is known for her precise dance moves, and overall persona. During this concert not only was there amazing music being performed there was also dancing to go along with it. In this concert not only did Beyoncé dance her background dancers was just as precise as Beyoncé. This gave the concert another way for the audience to enjoy what was being heard. In my opinion dancing and music go together perfectly so incorporating it into a concert was amazing. The lighting also was a big part of the show. I found that the lighting of the stage made me become amazed to what I was watching. This was a great thing to do because it makes the eyes of the audience focus on the entire stage, and enjoy the entire

The music design of One Flat Thing Reproduced was quite complimentary to the entire essence of the composition. Right at the beginning when you watch the two dancers eerily crawl under the tables in the shadows, you begin to hear equally as unearthly noises courtesy of Thom Willems (music director). These sounds, which can hardly be considered music, continue throughout the entire piece. The music would change at times and never distinctly following any type of pattern, while it also allowed the dancers movements to be heard. This greatly allowed for the emotion and story to seep through without being suffocating, leading to a more natural work.…

All I can say is, the story had somewhat of a quicker pace and sometimes harder to follow and small details could easily be missed, and the lighting was a tiny bit distracting when it flashed across the stage quickly. The use of sound effects was used to signify different things that caught the attention of the viewers and really added a special touch to the play. The play showcased beautiful and stunning singing which made the play more authentic, combined with the elaborate dances numbers truly made the show breathtaking and…

Very few famous performers nowadays can integrate showmanship with their music. In the 70’s a musical group by the name of Parliament took the music world by storm with their out of this world appearance and their own rendition of Funk music. Parliament was one of the key pieces in the development of funk music and modern music as well. They created what we know as P-Funk today that was a key element of the foundation of Hip-Hop. For my concert report I analyzed Parliament’s 1976…

When taking a seat, I notice the use of a thrust stage setup, which also helped the audience feel more personal within the play, allowing the audience to clearly catch all the action and emotions the actors express in the play. Immediately the audience feels within the era because of the backdrop and props on stage. On stage was simply three props along with chairs and a backdrop of a palace, this scene helped portray the effect of an early century garden in the center of the town. Along with the props, the lightning played a huge role in the setting within the play. Lighting colors such as red created a much more hot and exciting feel to the setting, while colors like blue created a cool and somber feeling of the setting.…

The concert that I will be critiquing is the late Amy Winehouse, Live at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, England. On May 29th 2007, solo artist, Amy Winehouse performed along with her backing band, a soul group called The Dap-Kings. I chose to view this concert because Amy is my all-time favorite jazz/ soul singer. Amy performed songs from her masterpiece album "Back To Black" and a few songs from her debut album, "Frank".…

Jazz Night Concert Report The concert that I chose to attend was Jazz Night which was held at the Arnette Scott Ward performing Arts Center on the Pecos campus. I decided to show up to this performance because I have always had an appreciation for the skill and talent it requires to play an instrument. I was pleased by the concert because I heard a wide spectrum of timbre, and I was especially thrilled because I got to hear the brassy sound given off by the trumpets. I used to be a trumpet player…

Being able to choreograph and perform in dance concert is a very unique and amazing experience. Creating ideas with everyone around you and transforming those ideas into a masterpiece is a process like no other. With everyone’s opinions out in thin air, you can put all of your ideas into one to create something so beautiful. In Modern especially it was really intriguing to watch the whole process of how the dance was created.
