How often have you heard someone complaining about the week being too long? How many times have you been that person? Think about a world where you only had to go to work or go to school four days a week. Now days people working a 50 or 60 hour week is nothing new to the everyday worker. Everyone is worries about for their families. By shortening the work week the health of the American workers could be increased. A four day work week also has the potential to help soften the effects of the horrible economy that we are in. with implementing such a plan the carbon footprint that Americans are leaving has a chance to be decreased. And our unhappiness may be from the long hours that Americans are putting in at work. If the work week was shortened to four days people would have more time to spend with their families. Instead of spending so much extra time at work. People would instead be able to take care of their kids. Even through their work day would become longer people would be able to use their time on the weekend to do more. People’s view of buying would also change because now we work longer hours so that we are able to buy more to make our families happier. We as citizens would also benefit by being healthier. Often people get overworked to the point they become tired and sick all the time. Rather than having stressed employees there would be a lot of healthy hardworking people who are ready to get their job done. Shortening the work week would benefit people in general. We would have a more family view on life less views on making money to spend and we also might see an increase in healthy workers and less absences.
