Obama explains the other attributes of the Reverend, expressing the kind and generous things he has done, not only for Obama, but for others as well. Barrack Obama uses a lot of patterns of development in his speech. Obama explains how this is exactly the kind of thing that we need to over-look in order to come together and face the real problems this country has. Obama explains how we can continue to discriminate and judge others by race, origin or religion, but nothing will ever get accomplished or resolved if we if continue these types of actions. The emotional as well as logical and reputable words used was very persuasive in understanding where and why he was expressing what he truly believed in. He provided good context and background as well as effectively reached a broad audience of multiple ethnic groups. I also do believe that the patterns of development were extremely useful in getting his point across. The speech covers just about all of them to get his point across so the readers truly understand what he is trying to say. Obama was specifically trying to relate to people the bigger picture. Rather than focusing on small petty issues, let’s look from a broader perspective, become one, and make this country better than it ever has
