Macbeth King Duncan's Death Analysis

If Macbeth was a stronger character the murder of the King could have been stopped as Macbeth would have been able to put his foot down and have his say not feel he had to do something he didn’t wish to do.
Yet the Shakespearian audience would probably have blamed the witches for the death of King Duncan, as they were very superstitious, they really thought witches were real and casts spells on people. Watching Macbeth at a theatre, seeing the witches would have been terrifying and they probably thought they were real witches too. I think they would have said Macbeth was possessed by some kind of spell after talking to witches and this caused him to kill the king. I think the witches had some responsibility for the death of King Duncan, but only a slight responsibility as all they did was give Macbeth there predictions of Macbeth becoming Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland.
