Diana finds herself on her way to a quest to find her brother, Ares The God of War, so that she can end the suffering from World War 1. When Diana is brought to the city of London things seem very strange. She is looked at funny by all the women and men as she walks through the streets because of the presence of strength she brings with her. When she is to get a different outfit, to look more part of a normal middle class woman, she finds it challenging. Ever since she has been empowering girls among all ages. With the debut of a Wonder Woman blockbuster movie woman, and also men, gathered to see the lasso fighting hero in action. The film was one of the best superhero films that DC has made since the Dark Knight trilogy. There were many different women figures in the film that helped to create a sense of women empowerment. The fact that one of the main villains, Dr. Poison, was a woman helped to connect more to the film. Although there was some controversy with it. As many know Wonder Woman’s outfit is a skin tight bodysuit with wrist deflectors, a lasso, and a crown. Many woman thought the fact of her fighting in what they called “knickers” turned them away from the film (Williams). They thought that she should’ve been more clothed and the fact that she wasn’t was just to appease to the male audience, which wasn’t the case at all. Woman were leaving the theatres just because of the lack of clothing she had on. They were unable to understand that although she wasn’t dressed in a full bodysuit she wa still just as powerful. This raised the question of “can a woman be sexy and a feminist at the same time?” and the answer is yes (Ferguson). When Diana steps out onto the fighting grounds in no man’s land there is a slow motion shot of her walking and deflecting bullets with her wrists. For many this was the turning point in the film.
