Not only do we focus on health promotion in older adults, but also we target our youth in efforts to decrease the potentials. Rowe and Kahn (1998) defined successful aging as the ability to maintain low risk for disease, high level of physical and mental functions, and engaging actively in life (as cited in Saxon & Etten, 2010, p. 302).
