During the time of Medieval Europe history portrayed it as being a decade or decay and diseases. When that period is introduced to me it seems as if it had nothing to offer history wise, and it also seem uninteresting and lacking. I feel that the period was a time of intellectual and political progress, I plan to explain how the role of the church and how that pertains to the government, also show how the church rose to power, and lastly I will explain the system that was developed for the treatment of other religions during that time as well. With the church receiving so much success wealth wise, it created a stable foundation for them in the future. To obtain the wealth and sustain it throughout the decades shows that the church had a strong base of stability from the beginning. To create an acceptable foundation, you first must develop a financial stable economy. Although, the Crusades were not beneficial to the Christian faith, by allowing them to happen the church lost a lot of followers. When the crusaders interacted with the faiths that were considered hostile they realized that the church was lying to create problems. With Christianity being the main religion during the Medieval period, other religions were not considered. Considering the pope headlining the crusades it would not seem that different religions would prevail. However, Muslims did have a place in the Christian dominated era. Unlike the Christian faith Muslim religion did not seek to purge or destroy their neighbors for not believing in what they believed. The introduction of peace shows that although they did not agree with each other’s faith respected was still given. Being able to draft and introduce values to a community that had a history of the crusades shows that growth was possible. When you consider the idea of growth it allows you to see that mistakes are made, but when change follows it is an effort made on behalf of the religion. Prior to doing this I never considered the Medieval period as anything worth researching. However, now that I have had time to gather adequate amount of information I understand that without the Medieval period we would not have access to some mistakes that modern day society has learned from. The period offered a beginning base for the church that created a strong foundation that still stands today. It also allowed King as head of the church, being the era that allowed Monarchy to branch and develop
