An individual’s personality is reflected through their behaviors, values, virtues, and background. According to Luedtke, every individual’s personality traits differ from their family and friends and may even vary in the setting the person is currently in or facing (27). However, there are five main traits, OCEAN, that are studied most often which are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism (Luedtke, 30). Personality greatly affects whether an individual can succeed as a leader or if their team will struggle continuously (Luedtke, 35). According to my International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) for Extraversion I scored average with a 58, having high scores for activity level and cheerfulness, but low for …show more content…
My supervisor’s feedback states how we interact on a regular basis to discuss the element’s well-being and she likes how I genuinely care for my people and create opportunities for us to bond. She would like for me to organize more events to have a stronger presence in the squadron. She would like me to be more self-motivated to get in front of my squadron and be a leader. My peers say I hold my subordinates accountable and to the standards, while still being an easy person to talk to who is sympathetic towards others. One of my peers stated my work ethic is superb and that I manage my time well, while putting 110% effort into all the work I do. Two of my peers said I should try something out of my comfort zone, like training staff or something more challenging. My subordinate’s feedback stated I am a positive individual who is hands-off as long as everyone is succeeding at their tasks, not micro-managing, and I keep the pressure from those up the chain from reaching them. One of my freshmen said she like how I check up on her frequently and she feels like I truly care for her well-being and another subordinate said I do a good job establishing professional interpersonal relationships. A trend among all my subordinates is that they like that I communicate information well in advance to give them plenty of time to complete tasks. Another trend is my subordinates would like me to speak out a bit more and organize element events so we all can bond
