Prospero uses his magic in both plays Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Cesaire’s The Tempest. Scene two of the plays in “A Tempest (Une Tempete)” by the author Aime Cesaire, has the same characters as The Tempest in Shakespeare 's play. It starts by telling us about the questions which Miranda asks her father because the ship is sinking, she believes that the person behind this disaster is her father, who is Prospero because he has the power to cause anything because of the magic which he holds. Prospero admits that he causes that, but no one in the ship is in danger. He does that on purpose because he wants to show her the power which her family owns. However, in Une Tempete, they show how Prospero treated Caliban in a meaner way and rude way than the Tempest. Prospero is a person who thinks he owns everyone and he is smarter than anyone. If he is, he would not have given his brother the chance to deceive him. Cesaire points out the issue of racism and colonialism because he believes that what society is suffering from. During the conversation between Caliban and Prospero in Une Temptete, Prospero makes fun of the language which Caliban is speaking, which shows that Prospero does not respect Caliban’s native country. For example, when he says "Back to your native language again.” he calls Caliban “ugly” he treats Caliban as if he is not a human who has soul, he treats him as an animal or a toy. Prospero is taking too much advantage and pride of himself in this play. He thinks everyone needs his help. When Prospero tells him that without him he can not be anything and Caliban told him that he will be in the best condition without him, “the king”. Prospero threw Caliban out of the house because of inappropriate thoughts, he thinks everyone thinks in the same way as he does which is in a disgusting way.
