To state, Mars is the neighbor planet to Earth which means it is between both Earth and Jupiter. Also, in the entire solar system, it is known that Mars is the planet that is most similar to planet Earth. Earth is the third planet from the sun and Mars is right after Earth making it be the fourth planet from the sun. Because Mars is after Earth and a bit further away from the sun, it is easy to conclude that the temperatures on Mars will be cooler than those on Earth. Although day temperatures may be warm, throughout the night, planet Mars will be exposed to extreme cold temperatures.Throughout the years of much study and research, many of the scientists and astronauts that work for NASA have been able to come to the conclusion that both Mars and Earth are quite similar and share many of the same characteristics. Just as on Earth, Mars orbits in the same direction. Its pretty cool to know that our Earth orbits on the same direction as Mars. Since Mars and Earth both orbit on the same direction it is known that just like on Earth, Mars will have changes in seasons. Some other characteristics between Earth and Mars consist of its atmosphere (Starobin, 2004). Just like on Earth, Mars is known is known to have glaciers, dust storms, river channels and volcanoes (Patel, 2007). It is a pretty cool fact to know that just like on Earth, there are huge glaciers, mountains and even …show more content…
Due to the fact that both Earth and Mars orbit in the same directions, they will both experience a change in the seasons. The change in the seasons always mean a change in the planet’s climate. For example, on planet Earth, when the season changes from fall to winter, the atmosphere feels different., and the temperatures will usually go down some and start to feel really cool. The same must also apply on planet
