They think they must be on a far end of the spectrum, to gain eat so much they can’t take it or eat so little they are almost starving themselves. I will attempt to break this idea by showing them that they can have a good amount of food throughout the day even a little extra if they want as long as they are healthy foods. I will then ask them 10 simple questions about what food they would think are good and bad for a normal diet. This will be very simple with pictures of the foods and they circle the good foods and X out the bad. I will then show them the quick results and compare that which is the subjective norm or idea about certain food like Bananas, with the facts. Examples of bananas which people see is a fruit so they can eat all they want of it or fats being the devil, when healthy fats are needed in a proper diet. The idea is to change what they think they know to be true, when in fact it is a myth. The next step is to change their motivation to comply, to make them want to change. To do this is will tell have them write down one thing that they feel is the worst part of their eating habit. They will write it down anonymously and put it in a bucket, and then everyone will read off out loud the one they draw from the bucket. This will show people even if they didn’t write it down that there is something bad they do that they either thought was fine or not too bad for them, and make them want to change
