After her father was publicly executed for being a traitor, by the late king 's son King Joffrey; and Arya sister having to be forced into marriage with him, Arya had to escape from King 's Landing (where her father died) and return back to Winterfell where her family is really from. Having to escape, she had to change her gender to a male so the knights wouldn 't execute her either since she is the daughter of a traitor. I felt that this scene was easy for Arya to do since she always considered to be more a male character and having to finally create that for herself, she left more powerful since she could “fight” without others looking down upon a female. Another example of a gender “inequality” that I felt fit was an female knight Brienne, she is the only female knight in series. What you first notice about her was her physical appearance, broad shoulders, muscular, tall, and her hair happened to be short like a boy. Brienne made her first appearance while she was fighting another knight, everyone thought “he” was fantastic in combat, after she won the fight and took her helmet off, everyone in the room were shocked especially the male, because they have never seen a woman fight and actually win. What resembled Patriarchy in Game of Thrones was the scene when the main character Daenerys Targaryen was sold to be married to a Dothraki man by her brother because her brother knew they had the last three dragon eggs and wanted to have a strong army that the Dothraki people were. Her brother did make her a “slave” to the people, but she was shown to be very power and everyone including her new husband loved her for being so powerful and caring of all the people. Her brother never cared about how she was dealing with everyone, all he wanted was the army since he believed he was the new “Dragon King” in his family, but as his sister started to break out of his eyesight, she had her husband kill her brother because of his ruthless behavior. She was later shown to be the true “Queen of Dragons”. After her husband died, Daenerys was shown to be one of the most strongest female character to conquer her own army and have them trained well, and most importantly control her own kingdom by herself without anyone else by her
