Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents, generally ranging from birth to 18 years of age. Being a pediatrician would help society because they help keep kids healthy. This also means that your love to work with children, families,medical experts and community members will need to be extremely great. On average, pediatricians get paid around $175,000 but those with at least 3 years experience who are specialized in either neurology or oncology/hematology can typically earn up to $250,000, while pediatric surgeons earn between $400,000-$500,000 a year. In 2011, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimated that general pediatricians earned roughly $168,650. In the past, pediatricians have been paid less than most other doctors. But as doctors, pediatricians are paid more than many workers in the United States. Most like what they do, according to surveys, pediatricians are very happy with the work they do.
