“The women’s rights movement, also known as feminism and women’s liberation, arose in Europe in the late 18th century, with the aim of expanding recognition and according of women’s rights” (Funk, Wagnalls). Unfortunately, nothing was done before the late 18th century, regarding woman rights. Before any movement or action was done to the woman rights, woman were not allowed to vote, woman had no property rights, the husband had legal power of the woman, the woman were not allowed to have a high education, if the married couple had a divorce the children would go straight to the father, to the male. In other words, women had no social, mortal, legal, educational, or economical status. Women were expected to stay at home and take care of the children, the house chores, and men’s needs. “In early societies, women bore and raised children, cared for the home, and helped maintain the family’s economic production” (Funk, Wagnalls). Abortions are when a woman does not want to bring the fetus to the world; it might be because of personal reasons, financial reasons or the other many existing reasons. I do not agree in abortion but I do also not agree on the right for woman to abort be taken away. Abortion is a right given to woman because it is their body and their fetus growing inside of them. I personally would never abort but at the same time, I would not say ever, if I wanted the option to abort or every other woman, I want the option to be there. We as humans never know of our upcoming future, if I in the near future stumble into a situation where I need to abort; I want the option to be there. In some states, the right for a woman to abort has been banded after the woman is two months pregnant “Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act. It bans a common second trimester procedure.” What is wrong with that is that many women do not even know they are pregnant until they are in their second trimester. Women that are desperate for abortion will do anything and would go out of their way to have an abortion.
