Business exists within an external environment consisting of the actions of other players who are outside the business .In order to characterize the external environment ( the STEEP model ) use five headings of ( Sociological , Technological , Economic ,Environmental and Political ) Factors .
1. Sociological factors:- Their demographic changes in the age structure of the population and pattern of the works,
Gender roles, the consumption pattern and the ways in which the culture of a country or population changes and develops.
2. Technological factors:
Companies have been affected by information and communication technology (ICT)
ICT is lowering the barriers of time and place and opening up opportunities for large global companies

3- Small businesses have knowledge and experience of the local business environment and can tailor their products and services appropriately.
4- Small business has a significant role in contribution to a national economy by bringing growth and new inventions to the community in which the business established
These small businesses motivate young employer with talents in each job and these talents help in innovative the market for their survival and help them to improve. Examples:-
