Ecstasy: The friendly terminator
Given the opportunity to choose which kind of drug I want to be, I would choose to become a date rape drug. Google defines a date-rape drug as a drug that causes temporary loss of memory and is given to individuals in order to facilitate rape or sexual abuse, defines a date-rape drug. The reason I would choose o become this drug is merely because they are powerful and dangerous.
My success and efficiency as a date-rape drug is always guaranteed owing not only to the effects I have on my victims but also as result of my physical appearance which makes it easy for people to use on their victims. Taking this drug also takes the ability to regulate temperature from the user’s body. In the case that this happens and there is a sharp increase in the body temperature the user’s kidney, liver or cardiovascular system can fail.
The evolution of this drug is however pretty ironic because in the 1970s XTC wasn’t used as a recreational drug but it was however used as an aid in psychotherapy. In the late 80s this drug was the labeled as a schedule I substance. Some researchers are still intrigued by the idea of XTC being able to be use as a therapeutic medium.
Typically the dosage of ecstasy consumed ranges between 80 to 160 milligrams. And just between 2000 and 2001 the number of users shot up from 6.5 million to 8.1 million. Emergency rooms have also indicated that marijuana users increasingly use Ecstasy, this fact is supported by the statistic tat shows how the MDMA and marijuana combination shot up from 8 in 1990 to 796 in 1999 – 788 difference in a number of 9 …show more content…
Results also indicated that 2,3% of eight graders, 5.2% percent of tenth graders and 6.5% of twelfth graders had tried ecstasy at least one. One could call the other drugs offspring of me; basically I’m the mother of all drugs because 92% of those who begin using Ecstasy later turn to other drugs including marijuana, amphetamines, cocaine and heroin – so yes I may not be as deadly and harmful as these drugs but they do owe me their fame and
