The Consequences Of Pajama

Improved Essays
Register to read the introduction… Pajama's are comfortable and should be able to be worn. It's not a distraction, they are just clothes. A lot of people get distracted easily and the school is just blaming it on what people wear. Also, girls can wear shirts that go down to the middle of their chests and not have anything said to them about it. When a girl has a little bit of their stomach exposed they are sent home to change or just yelled at. I know because this happened to me. That's just not right at all. The things that actually do distract people in this school are approved and the things that do not distract people are disapproved.
Ways to solve this problem are, talk to the person in charge of the school or you can just ignore the rule. Someone could go talk to the principle of the school to see if there was a way to change the rule and let people wear some of the clothing that they want and feel comfortable in. They could suggest clothes that don't show to much skin. If no one wants to do that, then they can just ignore the rule and wear whatever they want and get in trouble for

I would understand some inappropriate clothes with bad messages to restrict, but why do you think 99.99% are not appropriate to be worn at school. What I've come to experience with the dress down is a negative. I remember waking up knowing we had a dress down to not worry about putting my uniform in the washer/dryer. I just threw a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, and I come to school and apparently I just violated the dress code.…

Lately, I have been pondering on the harsh dress code rules. When did my shoulders become something I should be ashamed of showing? When did it become a secret that girls wear undergarments? Admonishing girls for letting their shoulders or bra straps show is the most ridiculous form of dress code. Dress coding this harshly can promote negative feelings about their bodies, when they already feel bad enough.…

When teachers give dress code violations to a girl for wearing shorts that are too short or because her choice in clothing is ‘innappropriate’, you are telling her that hiding her body and normal female parts (such as stomach, shoulders or thighs) is more important than her education. You are also telling her that a boys’ disturbance-free learning is more significant than her disturbance-free learning. Obviously some degree of dress code is important but shoulders, stomach and thighs should not be classed as inappropriate or distracting. The school dress code treats males and females differently.…
