Have you ever wondered why people get so defensive over abortion? It’s a topic that can be argued in different ways. Abortion is a word that can be defined as the expulsion of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive independently. This topic is extremely controversial because some people are against it, and others argue that women should have the right to choose. Though I believe that abortion is wrong, I can say that if the woman has a reason behind it, which I will explain further later on, that no one should get defensive over it. In no way is an abortion okay if it’s just because you forgot protection, or it was accidental. With decisions come consequences, and you have to be ready to deal with those consequences. If a girl got raped and it resulted in the reproduction of a child, she has every right to decide if she wants to have an abortion. Ask yourself this, if you were raped, and it resulted in a child, would you be able to face a child who was forced upon you? To remind you every day of what you went through? You’ve heard that incest can cause birth defects and problems with the child. So, would you be able to have a baby who is a part of your family? Created by a family member who decided they wanted you? Say a girl got pregnant in a result of being molested, and she didn’t know what to do. She was out of options and she definitely didn’t want to keep the child and live on with the memories of what happened to her at a younger age.
This can result in an abortion, and she may have the right to. An abortion should be allowed early into the pregnancy, but only in the first trimester.
