What population is most primarily impacted by this condition? (Minimum 50 ORIGINAL words excludes quotes and paraphrases.)
The population that is primarily impacted by iron deficiency anemia is women, adolescents, infants, adults who have internal bleeding, and people who are part of an at risk group. When it comes to full term infants, they use up their full amount of iron stored in their bodies in the first 4-6 months of life and could be at risk if they don 't receive iron enriched milk or food (Who Is At Risk For Iron Deficiency Anemia, 2014). Adolescents or teenagers could be at risk if they are underweight or have an on-going illness (Who Is At Risk For Iron Deficiency Anemia, 2014). Women can be at risk if they either have their period or are pregnant. Those who have internal bleeding can develop it due to blood loss, while those are part of an at risk group can develop it if they are going through kidney dialysis (Who Is At Risk for Iron Deficiency, 2014).

A healthy red blood cell contains hundreds of hemoglobin molecules which then binds to oxygen for transportation throughout the body (Pakzad, 2012). Healthy red blood cells are also made up of protein, iron, bilirubin, and amino acids (Pakzad, 2012). When there is an inadequate amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin, a person 's oxygen capacity is severely diminshed (Pakzad, 2012). When hemoglobin is reduced because of the deficiency of iron and is then detected through tests, a person will be diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia (Pakzad,
