Like most of the third world countries, Haiti is prone to disasters of many kinds and the main challenge of the republic remain the threat of those disasters. Those disasters are not only the cause of fatalities and adversities but also damage a struggle economy in progress of formation and hinder the development growth effort.

INTRODUCTION
In this chapter, an introduction will be presented on the topic of disaster risk reduction policy from a managerial prospective on strategies. The research background lays the core problems discussions where it presents the study area and the current situation. This will direct us to the main purpose and research questions. Lastly, we present an overview of the entire work.
Research Background
Disaster risk reduction (DRR) offers a major contribution to the building of safer, resilient communities. Central to this is the focus on community and specifically those at risk from disaster impacts. We know that we have been implementing DRR for some years now, but with the world becoming increasingly unsafe, it is important that we try to build on the foundations of previous endeavors and do more of what works and is effective.
