The Case and Research Methods There are currently over 1.5 million nonprofit organizations in the United States (Foundation Center, 2015). This study focuses on the case of Mission Arlington/ Mission Metroplex, a local nonprofit that provides a multitude of spiritual and social services to the disadvantaged population of Arlington, Texas and the larger Dallas/ Ft. Worth region. Mission Arlington, under the umbrella of Mission Metroplex, was founded August 1, 1986, by Executive Director Tillie Burgin and her family along with the help of the First Baptist Arlington Church in Arlington, Texas. The social services that Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex provide continue to evolve over time based on identified needs within the community.…
Permission to conduct research in the district under study was obtained (Appendix B). Prior to conducting any data collection, permission to conduct the study was obtained from the Walden University Institutional Review Board (IRB). Once IRB approval was obtained from Walden University, written informed consent from participants was sought. A letter was given to each participant that explained the purpose and objectives of the study, selection criteria, and participant expectations. Interview protocols to effectively record and document interview data, organize and analyze data, and maintain ethical behavior throughout the study were followed.…
The number of participants needed to conducts a qualitative case study methodology requires ten children participants from a diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds. The number could be increased with a saturation range of fifteen participants. Qualitative research generally uses a small sample number which implements a non-probability techniques through in-depth, individual, audio-taped, transcribed, and coded into major themes and subthemes. Case studies also allows the researcher ability to analyze and conclude real life contemporary, human situations. Case study methodology’s are very fill with complexities from analyzing multiple sources of data, if the researcher saturates the participants will become to large…
2.3.2.2.2 Qualitative data analysis For the purpose of this study qualitative content analysis was used. Content analysis refers to the process of organizing and integrating narrative information obtained from a qualitative study, according to key concepts and themes (Polit & Beck, 2012:723). The steps for data analysis suggested by Halloway and Wheeler (2002:147) were followed: · Order and organize the collected material. · Reread the…
UMUHOZA Marie Chantal, MMPH 00074 – UNIT 3 – INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT Integrating Rigor and Trustworthiness into Qualitative Research Research Subject: ANALYSIS OF THE MOTHER TO CHILD TRANSMISSION OF HIV PROBLEM IN ZAMBIA. 1. Introduction Qualitative data analysis include identification, examination and interpretation of collected data to evaluate how they contribute in responding to the research question. We acknowledge that “the quality of qualitative research depends on the rigor with which methods are applied by the researchers” (Gentium.ca, 2016).…
Hi Dr. Shutay, Both qualitative and quantitative data collection are beneficial methods and instruments. Curry, Nembhard, and Bradley (2009) suggest that quantitative techniques can be processed in the methods of qualitatively organizing the data. The qualitative data is organized data in themes, trends or descriptive information. Also, qualitative research is data utilized in research to effectively discover new data and principles designed in various types of outcomes. Reference Curry, L. A., Nembhard, I. M., & Bradley, E. H. (2009).…
Conducting field research responsibly involves confronting several ethical issues that arise from the researchers direct contact with subjects Chapter 13 Qualitative Data Analysis I. Introduction a. Qualitative analysis is the nonnumerical examinations and interpretations of observations II. Linking Theory Analysis a. Qualitative analysis involves the continual interplay between theory and analysis b. We seek to discover patterns such as changes over time or possible causal links between variables c. The units to be coded in qualitative analysis may vary within a document…
Research Problem Inadvertent Hypothermia is a prevalent disease that has been observed to bring about adverse effects. It is a condition in which the body lacks the ability to maintain the optimal temperatures required of the body. It has harmful impacts on the health of individuals that leads to the patients incurring a lot of costs in terms of medical care associated with it. Many of its effects include impaired immune function, cardiac complications, thermal discomfort, and increased incidence of wound infections among others (Hegarty et al., 2009).…
The topic for this study is hate crime, and its impact on Canadian Muslim families. The hypothesis is that hate crime is having an effect on Muslim families, and recent events are acting as a catalyst. There exist numerous sub questions and propositions. What constitutes a hate crime, what do Muslim families think, does hate crime cause Muslim families to be more vigilant, is hate crime a predominant issue within Canada, does the ethnic background of the person have an effect? My proposition is that hate crimes are increasing in Canada.…
Qualitative Research Publication Critique Time spent as a patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) can be scary for both patients and their families (Johansson, Bergbom, & Lindahl, 2012). Clukey, Weyant, Roberts, and Henderson (2014) conducted a qualitative study focused on the experiences of patients and their families, specifically related to the time the patient was intubated and sedated. The authors separated the research findings into two different articles, one presenting the families perspective, and the article used in this critique, entitled, Discovery of Unexpected Pain in Intubated and Sedated Patients in which the authors presented the patient's perspective to the ICU experience (Clukey et al., 2014). Problem, Purpose, and…
The interviews will include closed-ended questions so as to ensure that the responses are the expected results. This will help in collecting qualitative data among the participants. The questionnaires will be administered through the online system through the emails (Overview of Mixed Methods). The participants will be expected to fill the questionnaires and mail them back. The email administration has been preferred for this study since it will allow the participants to collect the data within a very short time.…
The first and basic method was interview of students, parents and teachers. All interviews made across the 2 years of research. Most interviews were made in spacious, qualitative, well-organized classrooms or lunchroom (after school), field trips, etc. Children interviewed alone in a quiet space of the school. If an interview continued more than 1 hour, children could take a break to get a drink and a small snack.…

Phenomenological and Narrative Research A discussion comparing and contrasting two qualitative research methodologies, such as phenomenological and narrative analysis, will be the focus of this report. Further, different components of both analytical strategies will form the body of this document and includes the purpose, philosophical stance, role of the researcher and data analysis procedures. Finally, a comparison between phenomenological and narrative methodologies will form the conclusion of this report. Phenomenological Research Purpose…
Introduction Research is a systematic and scientific inquiry that exploits meticulous methods to answer questions and solve problems. The definitive goal of research is to develop, refine and expand the body of knowledge (Polit & Beck, 2004). Extensive research is essential in nursing to develop empirical knowledge that enables nurses to deliver evidence-based nursing care (Burns & Grove, 2010). Research is generally classified into three paradigms. Qualitative research, quantitative research and mixed methods (Creswell, 2013).…
