Crop circles have been a mystery ever since they first appeared. In today’s world, people merely glance at an article about them. They simply brush it off to the side saying that “it has to be fake” or “it can’t be real”. Pat Delgado, a former NASA engineer, said, “It is perfectly natural to ask if crop circles are hoaxes, but very difficult to explain why they cannot be hoaxed satisfactorily” (Silva “Crop Circles”). Crop circles are very mysterious and interesting in many ways. A way this can be shown is through the first person accounts of the people who saw one being made. She and Robbert went outside to see the phenomena that had occurred in front of their eyes. They reported that the shape of the crop circle was a capital t attached to an ellipse (Eyewitness Report of a Cropcircle Forming). There is also an old story that dates back to 1966 of a farmer in Australia who saw a flying saucer fly out of a swampy area. He went to examine the area and found a “nest” that took the shape of a crop circle (Radford). Moreover, it is very interesting to see the many theories people have about who or what created the crop circles. Many people call crop circles natural events, but some people blame supernatural and unproven phenomenon. Most people blame an extraterrestrial being of great intelligence that draw these designs in their spacecraft and send invisible beams or rays to imprint the fields with their art. Others who do not stretch their imaginations go for the more logical reasons, such as elaborate pranksters or drunken men with a two by four piece of wood. It is even common to come across a person who thinks crop circles are the product of extremely horny hedgehogs. Some people even believe that a self-manifestation of global psychic power. There have also been sayings of a fungus or infection that will bend the plants stems. The only explanation that has ever been proven is humans.
