When it comes to the topic of gambling addiction, most of us will readily agree that going to the casino can be addicting. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question if can anyone become addicted to gambling. Whereas some are convinced that gambling can start at a young age because of gambling games on the internet, others maintain that gambling addiction does not come from the internet. The gambling industry tried to promote responsible gambling. The question is, what is responsible gambling? Is there even such a thing? People have their reasons for gambling. Some choose to do it for fun and some choose to do it just for the rush of excitement but is there something else deep down in someone that causes gambling? Like the need of winning? In the article Compulsive Gambling is an addiction, psychiatrist Robert Custer defined Problem gambling as “an addictive illness in which the subject is driven by an over overwhelming, uncontrollable impulse to gamble” (Custer, 2002). If I was to live in Las Vegas, Nevada I think I would always find myself at the casinos spending my money. I’ve been there and it’s tempting to wanting to go inside the casinos because of all the bright, colorful lights they have and especially at night it’s even more colorful. Las Vegas also has lots of advertising billboards. Las Vegas is good at making you want to come. They have celebrities’ artist come to perform. If you think you wouldn’t be able to control your spending or have a history of financial problems I suggest not moving Las Vegas.
