Reflective Essay English 101

The English 101 course offered here at Coppin definitely effected my writing for the better. Throughout the semester we were assigned 3 major essays including the Narrative, Compare and Contrast and the Argument. I really believe through the process of developing each one of these essays it has helped my writing in various components. They also made me realize what I wasn’t doing right when it came down to mechanical issues throughout the paper. The first paper we were assigned was the Narrative. The Narrative was designed to help us write about a personal experience we’ve encountered that could affect our college life. For the Compare and Contrast essay we were instructed to write about two courses we have taken here at Coppin and compare them. The comparison of the course was broken down into the various elements, the environment of the class, the instructor, and the workload. I chose to write about my Theatre 211 course and my Speech 105 Course. I generated my ideas by going back to look at the work we did for both courses, and also started brainstorming back to the actual classes. I constructed my paragraphs by how I thought both courses had a couple of similarities and some major differences. While writing the paper I was currently still in Theatre. That really gave me the idea of comparing it to my Speech course. To me both courses allowed me to have freedom to be able to say what you want and play a different role. For revising this assignment there was definitely an improvement but clearly still some huge mechanical errors that slipped me while writing. For this paper in particular capitalization errors and proofing were definitely big. I went about revising by going to fix those capitalization errors. The biggest thing was keeping the course and instructor names
